Dynamic Filters Overview

  • Updated

TruVoice provides a vast array of filter functionality to help slice and dice your data to dig into specific data sets and answer your burning questions. The latest addition to the TruVoice filtering capabilities is the concept of Dynamic Filters.

The data TruVoice compiles is dynamic in nature, so it only makes sense to have a dynamic filtering capability. The new Dynamic Filters in TruVoice allow you to set a filter once, and that filter will dynamically return the matching data at the point in time you’re using it, which is particularly useful in Dashlet filtering as well as Saved Workspaces.

The currently available Dynamic Filters include the top five most frequent competitors, as well as the top five most frequently reviewed products, with additional Dynamic Filters being planned in coming months.

To use Dynamic Filters, simply select which of the two Conditions you want to use, and then select the corresponding options, which include:

  • Dynamic Competitor filter options:
    • {Most Frequent Competitor}
    • {2nd Most Frequent Competitor}
    • {3rd Most Frequent Competitor}
    • {4th Most Frequent Competitor}
    • {5th Most Frequent Competitor}
  • For the dynamic Product filter options:
    • {Top Reviewed Product}
    • {2nd Most Reviewed Product}
    • {3rd Most Reviewed Product}
    • {4th Most Reviewed Product}
    • {5th Most Reviewed Product}

Select at least one of the five options, and the data returned will dynamically match the selected option(s). As new data is gathered, these options essentially "shift" automatically and return the data that fits that option at that point in time.

A great use case for this is the Decision Drivers Dashlet, which aggregates your top reasons for winning and losing. With the addition of the “Most Frequent Competitor” Dynamic Filter, this Dashlet now provides real-time insight into your top reasons for winning and losing versus whichever competitor you’re encountering the most at that point in time. Then, as time goes on, if another competitor rises to the top, you’ll automatically see the top reasons for winning and losing versus this new competitor without having to consciously remember to go change the filter yourself.
