How Can We Help?

Adding a New User in TruVoice

  • Updated

User management has recently become much easier. Several of the functions for managing user accounts have now been moved to this main view, as opposed to having to open a separate screen to do things like modify someone's name, title, role, or rights. Here's what you need to know:

  • Click a user row to open the details panel for that user. Within this panel, all editable fields and their current information will be shown. To make a change to an editable field, simply click the pencil icon to unlock that field, make the desired change, and click save.
  • Here, you can update the user's various details, including their role, manager, and the group(s) they are assigned to that grant them access rights. Please reach out to your CSM for assistance with configuring groups if necessary.
  • Important: Please contact support or your CSM if you need to update an email address. Because the email address is the core, unique identifier for a user account, modification is restricted as a support-only capability.
  • If you need to update multiple users with the same change, you can select multiple rows by holding ctrl while clicking the desired rows, or select your first desired row, hold shift, and click your last desired row to select all users between those two.
  • This will open a different details panel to the right, with a selection of controls you can use to batch-update the selected users. These options include opening each selected user's expanded details in new tabs, batch-editing specific fields for the selected users, sending the introduction email to the selected users, sending a Reset Password link to the selected users, exporting the selected users' details as a CSV file, and disabling the selected users.
  • Click the magenta icon to batch-edit specific fields for the selected users. This includes changing the group(s) they are members of, the Role(s) they're assigned, and which Manager they're under.
  • To view additional details about a given user, you can still click to select that user row and access their detailed account settings view using the same button as always; however, because most of the Edit User functions have been moved out to this main view, what you see in 'Edit User' will be a bit consolidated.
  • This view now only shows a user's activity history, restrictions, and individual rights.
  • Use this view if you need to grant a user a specific individual right outside of any of the groups they're assigned to. This should rarely be necessary for the average user, but the capability is there for cases where it's needed.
  • You can also use this view to restrict access to specific, individual profiles if needed. This is ideal only for special circumstances with a small collection of specific profiles for a given specific user. To restrict a collection of profiles on a greater scale for multiple users, global restrictions can be set up via groups. Reach out to your CSM for assistance with this if needed.
