Feature Overview

The Account Owner Field setup enables administrators to select a custom field from the Account object in your CRM instance to use as the account owner field in TruSales. This provides flexibility when organizations use custom ownership fields instead of the standard Owner field, ensuring accurate ownership attribution for accounts in TruSales.

How It Works

The system displays a searchable table of available reference fields from the Account object that point to User records. Administrators can select one field to designate as the owner field. The standard Owner field is automatically included as the default option. After making a selection, administrators must save and update the configuration, which triggers a background process to update all existing account records with the new owner field values. Progress is shown in real-time with completion notifications.

  • For Admins: Configure custom ownership fields when the standard CRM Owner field doesn't reflect actual account ownership, and map complex ownership structures in CRM to TruSales for accurate reporting, user attribution, and consistent data analysis across different business units.
