Feature Overview
The New Users Settings setup enables administrators to configure how new team members join their TruSales organization. This feature provides flexible access control options, allowing organizations to either require secure invitation codes for all users or enable seamless login using existing CRM credentials, with the ability to create exceptions for specific users. This helps balance security with user experience during the onboarding process
How It Works
The system offers two primary authentication approaches for new users:
- CRM Credential Login: When enabled, users can access TruSales directly using their existing CRM system credentials (Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics), streamlining the onboarding experience.
- Invitation Code Requirements: By default, new users receive unique invitation codes to access the system. Administrators can maintain a curated exclusion list of users who bypass this requirement, allowing them to login directly with CRM credentials while others still need invitation codes.
Exclusion List Management:
- Manual Entry: Administrators can enter user emails or IDs directly into a text area, one per line
- Bulk Upload: Support for CSV file uploads to efficiently manage large exclusion lists
- Sample Template: Downloadable CSV template ensures proper formatting for bulk operations
The interface uses intuitive radio button selections to switch between authentication modes, with dynamic form elements that appear based on the chosen option. Changes are saved immediately with visual feedback, and the system validates exclusion list entries to prevent errors.
Use Cases
- For Admins: Configure organization-wide access policies that balance security requirements with user adoption goals, ensuring smooth onboarding while maintaining control over who can access the system.
- For Security Teams: Implement graduated access controls where trusted users can join seamlessly while others undergo verification through invitation codes.
