Feature Overview
The SAML Settings setup enables organizations to configure Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)based single sign-on (SSO) authentication, allowing users to access TruSales using their existing enterprise identity provider credentials. This feature provides secure, centralized authentication that integrates with popular identity providers like Okta, Azure Active Directory, and other SAML-compatible systems, eliminating the need for separate login credentials and enhancing security through federated authentication.
How It Works
The system supports SAML 2.0 protocol for authentication, acting as a service provider that trusts assertions from configured identity providers:
- SAML Configuration Process:
- Enable SAML: Toggle to activate SAML authentication for the organization
- Identity Provider SSO URL: Enter the single sign-on URL provided by your identity provider
- Identity Provider Issuer: Specify the unique identifier for your identity provider
- Certificate: Upload the X.509 certificate from your identity provider for signature verification
- Authentication Flow:
- Users initiate login through TruSales or their identity provider
- TruSales redirects to the configured SSO URL with a SAML authentication request
- Identity provider authenticates the user and sends a SAML assertion back to TruSales
- TruSales validates the assertion using the provided certificate and grants access
The interface includes form validation, secure certificate handling, and immediate feedback on configuration changes.
Use Cases
- For Admins: Implement enterprise-grade SSO to reduce password fatigue and improve security posture across all business applications.
- For Security Teams: Enable centralized user lifecycle management and access control through existing identity infrastructure.
