Dashlet : User Activity

What is it?

The User Activity Dashlet provides visibility into how users interact with the platform across different roles, modules, devices, and browsers. It helps administrators and managers understand usage patterns, adoption levels, and engagement trends by analyzing user actions over time.This dashlet enables teams to identify active and inactive user groups, monitor role-based activity, and optimize system usage based on real engagement data.

Glossary

  • User Activity : Actions performed by users within the TruVoice platform(logins, module access, interactions).
  • Role – A predefined user category such as Management, Sales, or Other roles.
  • Dashlet : A configurable widget displayed on the TruVoice dashboard.
  • Activity Over Time : A trend-based view showing user activity across a selected time period.
  • Device & Browser : Classification of user activity based on device type and browser used.
  • Management Roles : Grouping of users based on organizational roles.

Navigation

To access the User Activity Dashlet:

  • Click Add Dashlet

  • Select User Activity from the list of available dashlets

Dashlet settings

  • Dashlet Title: To set any custom title for the dashlet. Default title is derived from the title set in Role Dashboard settings
  • Dashlet Subtitle: To set any custom subtitle for the dashlet.  Default subtitle is derived from the title set in Role Dashboard settings
  • Dashlet Width: To set the width of the dashlet. "Small" is the default dashlet width.
  • Dashlet Height: To set the height of the dashlet. "Small" is the default dashlet width.

Chart Type

You can choose one of the following chart types:

  • User Activity – Displays activity distribution by users or roles

  • Use the role filter dropdown to view activity for:

    • All Users

    • Management Roles

    • Sales Roles

    • Other Roles

  • Activity Over Time – Shows trends in user activity over a selected time period

  • Each bar is segmented by activity status:

    • Active (Green)

    • Inactive (Yellow)

    • Never (Red)

  • Device & Browser – Visualizes activity based on device type and browser usage

  • Use the available filters:

  • Role Filter (e.g., All Users)

  • Time Range Filter (e.g., Last 7 Days, Last 1 Month, etc.)

  • Only one chart type can be selected at a time.

View Activity By

  • Defines how the activity data is grouped:

    • Role – View activity based on user roles

    • Module – View activity based on platform modules [ This option is not available with Device & Browser chart type ]

Role Filter

  • When Role is selected, you can further filter by:

    • All Users

    • Management Roles

    • Sales Roles

    • Other Roles

  • This allows focused analysis of specific user groups.

    • Switch to the "Appearance" settings

  • The Appearance tab allows you to customize how user activity statuses appear in the User Activity Dashlet.

  • Configure colors and labels for activity statuses:

    • Active – Users with platform activity within last 3 months are considered as active

    • Inactive – Users with no activity within last 3 months are considered as inactive

    • Never Accessed – Users who have never logged in

  • Labels can be renamed to match internal terminology.

  • Reset Colors restores default color settings.

  • Changes are applied when you click Add to Dashboard; Cancel discards updates.

Dashlet Actions

  • Add to Dashboard – Saves the configuration and adds the dashlet to the dashboard

  • Cancel – Discards changes and returns to the dashlets list.
